Phaco/IOL without Visco with Iris Hooks

Phaco/IOL without Visco with Iris Hooks
The video demonstrates the IOl implantation without viscoelastics. The capsule is maintained using the bimanual irrigation. This can be done in almost all situations except for eyes with vis-a-tergo. The video demonstrates an alternative approach for IOL implantation using the infusion line of the bimanual irrigation without the use of viscoelastics. Thus postoperative elevation of intraocular pressure due to viscoelastics can be avoided. This might be of importance in glaucomatous eyes, especially following filtration surgery.
