Persistent Pupillary membrane

Persistent Pupillary membrane
It is a congenital abnormality in which we can see several strands inserting into the collarette of the iris with other edges that partially bridge the pupil and merged with iris pigment clumps on the anterior lens capsule. It is a remnant of the anterior portion of the tunica vasculosa lentis, the vascular structure that nourishes the crystalline lens in utero. In most of the cases does not hamper vision.
